OMG! A Steal of a Deal!

Holy cow. Lookit what I just found on Etsy for $10!!!

It's missing the rod for the paper, but I can EASILY make a new one. Especially since this one just drops into place in the holder.

I have been looking on/off for a vintage toilet paper holder for a few months, and they are all WAY too expensive. This similar one (below) sold on eBay a few months ago for $202.00 USD! It's in better shape and not missing any parts, but sweet lord! 200 dollars for a toilet paper holder? Really? I actually like the shape of mine better.

SO HAPPY!

  1. Thanks! I've been daydreaming about finding a really nice tp holder but I never thought I'd find one so cheap. I cant wait to get it. Now I'm looking for a similar (vintage) towel bar.

  2. Hi JC,

Beautiful little gem there. Will you ever be the same again, after making such great discoveries? I know you really enjoy your house restoration journey, and treasure hunting to find just the right items for your house. Thanks for sharing those AWSOME finds--love the photographs.

You either have the "magic touch", or your are a "bit touched" (in the head). Ha. Ha. Just teasing.

JC, sorry I've been delinquent about sending the used light fixture to you. I've been to the moon and back busy this summer. Please forgive me.

    Talk to you later,
    Mrs. D

  3. Hey Mrs. D! Glad to hear from you. I was actually thinking of writing you a short message to see how you're doing. I kinda figured you got busy with things.

As for my newest find, I tend to be pretty persistent, and I also love to do really vague searches for items, which tends to turn up better results (that fewer people have run across). This means that I often get lucky with really good finds that are otherwise overlooked.

You have no idea how thrilled I was to find such an awesome tp holder. I can even remake the missing bar with some similar turned brass knobs for the ends, so it will look extra nice.

  4. Hi, JC - I agree with you that your find is more elegant than the more expensive fixture. There is so much similarity though, I'm wondering if they weren't made by the same company?

  5. Mark, that's definitely a possibility. The side scrolls are nearly identical.

  6. $10?!?!?! That's awesome! I love the look of old utilitarian items like this that have such nice decorative features. What a great find.

  7. Hey Alex, yeah I couldn't NOT buy it at 10$! I can't wait for it to get here. The trouble now will be to find one or two semi-matching towel bars. :)
